October, 2010 : 9th Annual Compassionate Care Conference, San Jose, California

The six hour conference will be an opportunity for those in elder-care to meet and discuss the current trends, focus and best practices. There will be ample opportunity to network and make new friends. A panel discussion is planned and will give us all the opportunity to address current issues in elder-care.

One of Coda's goals is to create alliances with the local eldercare communities in an effort to promote conversations about care of the dying and improve the quality of end-of-life experience for all involved. To help professionals care for the dying, Coda offers a yearly conference on end-of-life care for doctors, nurses, clergy, social workers, bereavement counselors, volunteer coordinators, and anyone else interested in end-of-life issues. Professionals from all modalities of elder care, including doctors, nurses, clergy, and healthcare service providers will be attending this one-day conference. Join us as together we work toward increased professional awareness of elder-care issues in the Silicon valley, California.

When they or someone they love is dying or critically-ill, people often need to look to their communities for support and guidance during an illness. Even highly-trained healthcare workers and other professionals often feel inadequately trained to address coping with the complex array of medical options and decisions that surround a person's last days.
